About BodyElevated
BodyElevated is an online fitness coaching company founded by Naeemah Brown and Rob Monroe in 2018, in New York City. The premise is straightforward: most off-the-shelf fitness programs are built for a generic body that doesn't quite exist, and most people would do better with something built specifically for them.
Who runs it
Naeemah Brown is a NASM-certified personal trainer (NASM-CPT). She came into fitness through martial arts and competitive sports, picked up nutrition coaching credentials a few years in, and has been training clients in person and online since the early 2010s. Her speciality is the people other coaches sometimes write off — people with prior injuries, people who've tried a dozen programs and quit, people whose lives don't fit a five-mornings-a-week gym schedule.
Rob Monroe handles the business and technology side. He came out of finance and shifted into health-tech after a personal training journey that involved more bad programs than good ones. He's the reason we have a structured 4-week program with weekly tracking and not just an Instagram DM relationship.
The philosophy
Three things we believe, in order of importance:
- Programs should fit the person. A 40-year-old returning to fitness after kids needs a different program from a 22-year-old who's been training since high school. Most "online programs" don't make that distinction. Ours do.
- Sustainability beats intensity. A program you can do for a year beats a program you can do for three weeks. Almost every transformation result comes from the boring middle months, not the dramatic first three weeks.
- Nutrition is half the work. We don't sell meal plans (those are usually too rigid to follow), but every coaching engagement includes nutrition principles and habit-building, not just exercise programming.
How we work
Most clients start with the 4-week BodyUp! program — a structured, time-bounded engagement that lets us learn how you train, eat, and recover before recommending a longer arrangement. About half of BodyUp! clients continue into ongoing 1:1 coaching after the program ends; the other half take the program and run with it on their own.
Everything is delivered through a combination of the app (workout videos, tracking, progress photos, messaging) and direct calls with Naeemah at the start and end of every program block. We don't run group classes and we don't sell pre-recorded video libraries — the value is in the personalization.
What we're not
We're not a quick-fix shop. We don't promise 30-day transformations, six-week six-packs, or any of the language you see on Instagram ads. If that's what you're looking for, you'll be disappointed in us within the first two weeks. If you're looking for a program built specifically around your body, your schedule, and what you actually want to be able to do — we're worth talking to.
We're also not a gym alternative. Most clients have a gym membership somewhere or train at home. We program; we don't provide equipment.
The product line
BE Products started small and stays small. We make a few pieces we use ourselves — training masks, water bottles, lifestyle apparel — and we don't release new SKUs unless we'd actually use them. The product line isn't the main thing; it's a small alongside-the-coaching offering. See the products page for what's currently in stock.
Getting in touch
The fastest way is to book a free 15-minute intro call. Email [email protected] and we'll send a calendar link. No commitment, no upsell — we genuinely use the intro to figure out whether we'd be the right fit. If we don't think we are, we'll say so and (where possible) point you towards someone who would be.
